Biography: Lara Arab is programme manager at the Dubai-headquartered Hawkamah Institute for Corporate Governance.

She develops and manages programmes for banks, financial institutions and family-owned enterprises. Arab is also responsible for identifying strategic partners for the institute, developing market incentives to promote good corporate governance and developing sector and/or function-specific capacity building programmes.

She is currently leading two Mena taskforces on corporate governance for the insurance and the private equity sectors. Prior to joining Hawkamah, Arab worked as a business development manager for Dubai-based CMCS, a subsidiary of the US’ Primavera Systems. As part of her role, she headed up the training and consultancy department.

Arab graduated from the American University of Beirut with a degree in economics.
