Indian group expected to complete Abu Dhabi Refining Company project by second quarter of 2016
Larsen & Toubro has been awarded an estimated $150m engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to expand Abu Dhabi Refining Companys (Takreer) aviation fuel depot at Abu Dhabi International airport.
The Indian contractor submitted the lowest commercial EPC bid ahead of at least six other companies, MEED reported in early September. The project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2016.
The upgrade is aimed at meeting the fuel demands of Abu Dhabi International airport for the next 20 years. The contract is expected to be officially awarded in October.
The scheme aims to expand the aviation fuel tank farm storage capacity to 80 million litres and incorporate new fuel hydrant pumps and automation, control, and leak detection systems.
