The director-general of the Iraqi state-owned North Oil Company (NOC), Sameer al-Taie, has been removed from his position.

A decision by Iraqi Oil Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi was issued on 27 July amid a corruption investigation, according to the news service Iraq Oil Report.

The North Oil Company is headquartered in the Iraqi city of Kirkuk and is the largest upstream oil producer in the north of Iraq.
