Lebanon's Energy and Water Ministry has announced that it will issue tenders in May for a $1.2bn project aimed at boosting power supply at the Zouk, Deir al-Ammar and Jiyeh plants by 700 additional megawatts of electricity, the National News Agency has reported. The World Bank had recently approved the tender, which was set in accordance with international standards and requirements, the ministry has added. The ministry has allowed interested companies to get a conditions document for the project starting Monday.
