Lebanon invites bids for wastewater project

Work will involve building wastewater treatment plant and pumping stations

Lebanon’s Council for Development & Reconstruction has invited contractors to submit proposals for the contract to build wastewater infrastructure for the areas of Anjar, Majdel Anjar and Qabb Elias.

Contractors have been invited to submit bids by 2 November for the contract to build collection, conveyance and treatment systems for the wastewater network.

The scope of works will include:

  • Construction of three pumping stations and 61.7km of wastewater gravity and pumping pipelines diameter from 200mm to 1,000mm, with corresponding lateral sewers and manholes.
  • Construction of one wastewater treatment plant
  • Operation and maintenance of construction works for a period of two years

 The government intends to use part of a loan from the Italian government to finance the wastewater scheme.
