Companies consolidate to keep pace with competition
Lebanese satellite company Lunasat is in the process of merging with the satellite division of internet service provider IDM. The new company will be called Lunasat IDMI and the process is due to finish in four weeks.
“We are still working on the technicalities and transferring all our clients,” says Lunasat vice-president Antoine Naim.
Lunasat is a turnkey solutions provider and lists many of the region’s governments and embassies among its clients. The new merger will enable the two companies to expand into different markets, particularly Africa to offer services like broadband satellite.
“There is no place for small players anymore. We are following the trend that bigger is better,” adds Naim
