Lebanon’s Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) is planning to invite consultants and contractors to prequalify for the project to expand and upgrade the Al-Ghadir wastewater treatment plant.
The project will increase the existing capacity of Al-Ghadir from the current figure of 50,000 cubic metres a day (cm/d) to 140,000 cm/d.
CDR has received an $87.5m loan from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) to assist with the financing of the wastewater project. The consultancy role will include preliminary design services, assisting with the drawing and evaluating of tender documents, and supervising construction works. The contractor will build the extension under a design and build contract.
Details about the upcoming tender and procurement processes are available on the CDR website.
