Limitless approaches contractors for Downtown Jebel Ali Plaza

12 August 2008
Dubai-based developer Limitless is inviting contractors to prequalify for a contract to build the superstructure for the Central Plaza at its Downtown Jebel Ali development in Dubai.

It is one of two plazas at Downtown Jebel Ali that have been designed as transport, entertainment and retail hubs, each with its own metro station and road access.

Raphael Vinoly Architects and Pelli Clark Pelli Architects, both US-based, are the architects.

Work is now nearing completion on one construction package at Downtown Jebel Ali. In 2006, the local Al-Habtoor Engineering Enterprises started work on a design and build contract for the construction of four, 12-storey office buildings with two common basements and two podium levels.

The local Bin Hafeez General Contracting & Transport Establishment is working on the infrastructure package. Australia’s Bovis Lend Lease is the project manager (MEED 17:8:07).
