Limitless breaks ground on Jordan's tallest buildings

22 July 2008
Dubai-based Limitless has broken ground on its $300m Sanaya Amman towers project in Jordan, at a ceremony attended by Jordanian Prime Minister Nader al-Dahabi and Omar Maani, mayor of Amman.

Formerly known as Limitless Towers, Sanaya Amman involves the construction of two 200 metre-tall, 50-floor residential towers that will be Jordan’s tallest buildings.

The towers will have more than 550 apartments accommodating up to 2,000 people. At the ground level, a 1,000 square-metre indoor plaza will contain shops, entertainment and leisure facilities as well as 5,600 square metres of communal outdoor space.

Located in the Abdoun district of Amman, Limitless claim the project will also be the first in Jordan to meet world environmental standards, with a host of eco-friendly initiatives that will save $2m a year in running costs.

Piling works are expected to start by the end of 2008 and an award for the main construction contract is scheduled for August 2009. Completion is expected in 2011.

US-based Turner Construction International is the project manager. Chicago-based Murphy/Jahn is the lead designer (MEED 11:5:08).
