Biography: Loay Ahmad al-Musallam was appointed CEO of National Water Company when it was launched in 2008.
Prior to that, he served as deputy minister for planning and development in the Water & Electricity Ministry. During his tenure at the ministry, Al-Musallam headed the privatisation and restructuring programme of the water utility sector in the kingdom, and played an instrumental role in developing the National Water Company. He is a member of the board of directors of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority.
In 1989, following his graduation from Muhammad bin Saud University in Riyadh, he joined the Saline Water Conversion Corporation, where he held roles including chief accountancy manager and general manager for the materials department. He has an MBA from the University of Leicester in the UK.
