Local consultant bids low for Dubai water work

NJS Consultants Company plans to supervise emirate’s water transmission pipeline project

Dubai’s NJS Consultants Company is the low bidder for a consultancy contract to supervise the emirate’s water transmission pipeline projects.

The company bid AED13.6m ($3.7m) for the work.

The Egyptian firm Dr Ahmed Abdel-Warith Consulting Engineers, bid AED14m.

The US’ Parsons submitted a price of AED17.5m; MWH, also of the US, priced the work at AED21.4m; Lebanon’s Khatib & Alami bid AED22.9m; and the US’ Wilbur Smith Associates bid AED23m.

The Netherlands’ Tebodin bid AED24m, Serbia’s Energoprojekt Entel bid AED24.6m, and Germany’s Fichtner bid AED35.3m.

Three other companies also bid, but Dubai Electricity & Water Authority rejected their offers as they failed to submit a tender bond.
