Local UAE developer Alef has awarded the local Al-Hamad Building Contracting Company an estimated AED1.5bn ($409m) contract for the construction of a residential development in Sharjah.
The 48-month contract covers work on zone 1 on Alef’s AED3bn Mamsha development that is being built on 300,000 square metres (sq m) of land in Sharjah.
Once complete, the overall project will have a built-up area of about 900,000 sq m. The development will be free from cars as vehicles will only be able to park in basement parking levels.
Al-Hamad’s contract involves the construction of 33 buildings that include residential and retail space that will split into two phases. The first phase is for 15 buildings, while the second phase is for 18 buildings.
The consultant is Lebanon’s Laceco.
