Local firm bids low for Sohar expansion

Hassan bin Juma bin Backer Trading & Contracting has submitted the lowest bid for the project to build and install the infrastructure for the expansion of the industrial estate at Sohar in Oman.

The company submitted a price of RO24m ($62.6m).

Seven other commercial bids were also submitted. They came from South Korea’s Sambu Construction; India’s Nagarjuna Construction Company; the local Galfar Engineering & Contracting; Athens-based Consolidated Contractors International Company; the local Al-Adrak Trading & Contracting Company; India’s Gammon International and Oman Holdings International; and the local Desert Line Projects.

The client is the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (MEED 7:9:07).
