The new retail complex will be the second community centre in the al-Furjan area

Local developer Nakheel has awarded a contract to Dubai-based Al-Sakher Contracting for the construction of a community retail centre and mosque in the Al-Furjan area of Dubai.
The contract involves the building a complex with 19 retail units, 17 dining units and a mosque. The site has total area of 28,640 square metres.
New malls under way by Nakheel include Nakheel Mall on Palm Jumeirah, Deira Islands Mall, the Circle Mall at Jumeirah Village Circle and a mall at neighbouring Jumeirah Village Triangle.
The developer is also expanding its Dragon Mart and Ibn Battuta malls, and bringing six new neighbourhood retail centres.
In July, the Nakheel received bids for the contract to build the Gateway towers project at the base of Dubais Palm Jumeirah.
