Local firm wins Kuwaiti gathering centre deal

The local O&G General Engineering & Contracting has won a KD5.7m ($20.4m) contract to upgrade power systems at gathering centre 23 in the north of Kuwait for state upstream operator Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).

Under the terms of the contract, signed on 25 August, O&G will modify and improve the power distribution system at the gathering centre, which has an oil processing capacity of 120,000 barrels a day.

O&G is also low bidder for two other KOC contracts totalling KD26m.

The first is for the-term contract to provide maintenance services for the state’s gas pipeline network (MEED 13:5:08).

The second is for the construction of an oil pipeline linking transit line 3 and the Doha water and power generating complex (MEED 29:4:08).
