Spanish firm Tecnicas Reunidas, the main contractor for Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s (Adnoc) onshore Bu Hasa oil field development project, has appointed Abu Dhabi-based firms Target Engineering and Al-Hadaf Engineering Construction Company to provide mechanical and electrical construction (MEC) works.
Target Engineering, a subsidiary of UAE-based construction company Arabtec Holding, said the value of the sub-contract is $142m.
Target Engineering’s scope of work on the project is the construction and expansion of the existing Bu Hasa oil pad hubs, the gas lift phase II and the produced water re-injection phase I and II.
The MEC works will commence in May 2019 for a duration of 30 months, Target said.
Adnoc Onshore on 14 November formally awarded a $1.4bn engineering, procurement and construction contract to Tecnicas Reunidas for the Bu Hasa Integrated Field Development project.
The purpose of the project is to increase and sustain the field's production plateau oil production to 650,000 barrels a day by 2020.
