L&T wins Al-Bunduq EPCplatform contract

India's Larsen & Toubrohas been awarded a $52.5 million engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a process platform in the Al-Bunduq field offshore of Abu Dhabi. The client on the 18-month contract is Bunduq Oil Company.
India's Larsen & Toubrohas been awarded a $52.5 million engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a process platform in the Al-Bunduq field offshore of Abu Dhabi. The client on the 18-month contract is Bunduq Oil Company.

The scope of works calls for installation of a new platform jacket, a deck, a bridge linking the deck to the existing gas-sweetening facilities, and associated works. The other bidders were Paris-based Technipand the local National Petroleum Construction Company.

The Al-Bunduq gas injection project calls for injection of 40 million cubic metres a day of gas into the 30-year-old oil field to maintain pressure. Al-Bunduq's shareholders are Japan's United Petroleum Development Company, France's Totaland the UK's BP(MEED 29:8:03).
