Russia’s Lukoil has issued a new tender for 2D seismic data processing services for its exploration area in the south of Iraq.

Lukoil has set a deadline of 12 November for firms to submit their prequalification documents, followed by 24 November deadline for the submission of bids.

The Russian firm leads a consortium with Japan’s Inpex Corporation exploring the 5,500 square kilometre block approximately in the southern Muthanna and Dhi Qar provinces.

The pair agreed an exploration, development and production services contract with the Oil Ministry in Iraq’s fourth hydrocarbon licensing round in 2012. Under the agreement they will be paid a fee of $5.99 for each barrel of oil equivalent produced at discoveries in the block.
