Work will involve adding 60 new retail and dining outlets
Dubai-based Majid Al-Futtaim (MAF) has released details of a RO27m ($70m) second phase to the expansion to City Centre Muscat.
The project, which will start later this year, will add 60 new shopping and dining outlets to the mall with a total area of 10,000 square metres. Phase 2 of City Centre Muscats redevelopment is expected to be complete in 2015.
The RO8.3m first phase of the City Centre Muscat expansion was recently completed. It involved building 10-screen VOX Cinemas plus enhancements made to Magic Planet and the food court dining area. The local Douglas OHI was the contractor.
A new car park structure, currently under construction will accommodate 700 vehicles to provide more convenience to shoppers.
Muscat City Centre was MAFs first shopping and leisure complex outside the UAE and features more than 150 local and international retail brands. In 2007, the mall underwent a RO22.5m expansion, which doubled the malls retail space
