Khaleel Bahader, Chairman of the Hotels and Tourism Committee at the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) has said the income made by investors for hotels and furnished apartments for Hajj has seen a 70% decline, according to the Saudi Gazette. The ban on old, sick and infirm pilgrims had resulted in an estimated SR1bn loss to the holy city's tourism sector, he said.
