Manchester Business School Middle East Centre

Among the programmes on offer at MBS is the recently launched Global EMBA (GEMBA), a more personalised part-time MBA for the most senior executives

Manchester Business School (MBS) is the UK’s largest campus-based business and management school and is part of the University of Manchester. MBS is consistently ranked among the UK Financial Times’ top international schools and is ranked 4th in the world, outside the US, by business title Forbes, based on return on investment.

The MBS Middle East Centre at Dubai Knowledge Village, UAE, opened in 2006 and is the largest and fastest-growing centre in the school’s international network. Today, it provides support for more than 1,600 part-time MBA students in the region.

The 30-month, part-time Global MBA offers students four learning pathways – engineering, finance, projects and global – with a minimum of 250 hours of face-to-face workshops in Dubai or any of the international centres. The workshops bring together MBA students not only from the region, but also those international students who elect to come to the Dubai centre for their workshops, enabling them to build on their global network. Leading faculty from MBS deliver MBA programme modules – including new elective modules such as sustainable business, and venture capital and private equity – as well as running business simulation exercises.

MBS Global MBA students are all experienced working professionals and many are employed in senior positions by some of the world’s leading multinational companies, as well as local and regional companies.

The part-time, 20-month GEMBA programme is designed for very senior executives looking to move into the boardroom. GEMBA comprises three elements: a comprehensive academic programme led by top faculty; a reflective manager course to evaluate decision-making, problem-solving and management styles; and GEMBA+, a range of additional experiences from high-level networking to personal coaching to help define goals, enhance interpersonal skills and build connections. The programme is delivered across four MBS regional centres in Dubai, Shanghai, Manchester and Miami.

Global MBA graduates are awarded the same Manchester MBA as those on the full-time, campus-based programme.
