US group manages The St. Regis Dubai, W Dubai Habtoor City and The Westin Dubai Al-Habtoor City

US-based Marriott International will no longer manage the hotel properties at the Al-Habtoor City development in Dubai.

In a statement on 10 July, the local Al-Habtoor Group said that Marriott International will no longer manage or otherwise be associated with The St. Regis Dubai, W Dubai Al-Habtoor City and The Westin Dubai Al-Habtoor City, effective from 31 July 2018.

The statement added that it is a mutual decision reached amicably between the parties, and that the management of the hotels will be transferred to the owning company.

The hotels at Al-Habtoor City opened in 2016. The properties were built on the site of the former Metropolitan Hotel that was redeveloped while the Dubai Water Canal was constructed. The development also includes residential properties that are still under construction.

The contractor is the local/Australian BIC Contracting, which was formerly known as Habtoor Leighton Group before the Al-Habtoor Group disposed of its shares in the company.
