MEED Quality Awards for Projects 2011: Social Project of the Year

The provision of public amenities enhances the social cohesion of a population. These can take the form of social housing, healthcare and education services, but also include parks and public spaces.

MEED’s Quality Awards for Social Project of the Year 2011 aims to celebrate the sustainable aspects of these projects by recognising quality design, integration and management.

The criteria

  • Projects that can be nominated for this award include:
  • Park, public spaces and municipal leisure facilities
  • Private-public partnerships in the provision of social projects
  • Social and affordable housing
  • Hospitals, medical centres and healthcare facilities
  • Schools, universities and education facilities
  • Public service projects, including law enforcement and emergency services hubs
  • Those submitting nominations should use the official online entry form to supply information on the five factors in the delivery of the project:
  • Economic and social feasibility
  • Architecture and design
  • Engineering
  • Construction procurement and project management
  • Environmental impact and sustainable development
