Position: Regional manager P&I - Middle East

Biography: Meena Mathews is GAC’s regional manager, protection and indemnity (P&I) for the Middle East Region. She has worked with the Group since 2001, and her current role sees her on call around-the-clock to assist International P&I clubs and their members with any issues or claims they may have.

Meena is spearheading GAC’s drive to improve relations with P&I clubs throughout the Middle East, including Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Jordan and the UAE. She ensures GAC’s high standards are consistently maintained whenever clients request assistance. She also looks after GAC’s Middle East insurance portfolio.

Meena has been involved in maritime, P&I and law for more than two decades, and holds a Masters in Law with a shipping and maritime specialisation. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of UK, Nautical Institute, WISTA, and other professional bodies.

Before joining GAC, she worked as an associate to two international law firms in their shipping departments, gaining extensive experience in maritime disputes, contracts, litigation and arbitration.
