Weakened oil prices, rising fiscal deficits and political risk have caused sovereign ratings to slump in the region since 2014, according to Standard & Poor’s Middle East and North Africa, Sovereign Rating Trends 2018 report released in January, but the neutral outlook for 2018 suggests the downward trend may flatten out this year
