Villas will be built at District One development
The joint venture of Dubai-based Meydan Group and Indias Sobha Group has invited companies to bid for a contract to build villas at its Mohammed bin Rashid City District One development in Dubais Nad al-Sheba area.
The contract involves the construction of 329 villas and related infrastructure. Construction is expected to start in August 2014, with a target completion date set for June 2016.
Indias Sobha Engineering & Contracting has started work on the show village for the project in May 2013.
The project includes 1,500 villas and a 350,000 square metre water park. The villas will be delivered in four phases. It will be built alongside Al-Khail Road, next to the Meydan Racecourse.
The Mohammed bin Rashid City District One project includes 1,500 villas and a 350,000-square-metre water park. The architect for the scheme is US-based Ae7.
In October 2013, Crystal Lagoons has signed a deal to construct the worlds largest manmade lagoon at the development. The 40-hectare lagoon is so large it will have its own beaches.
