Microsoft tests Office 15, new features and improvements rumoured

07 March 2012

Microsoft is testing a Technical Preview version of Office 15, its next-generation office productivity suite which is to include new features, The Verge has reported. The software giant disclosed the existence of the Office 15 Technical Preview in January, but declined to provide details. Among the new features is a 'Read Mode' that automatically reformats text into columns to put more on the page - presumably to make Word documents easier to read on tablets. A 'Touch Mode' feature also adds touch support, allowing users to manipulate the ribbon by hand. Excel will also add this feature, while Excel and Word will add an upgraded 'Start Experience' that provides quick access to frequently used documents and templates, the report said.
