Biography: Mohammad Fathy Saoud joined the Qatar Foundation in 1997 as higher education adviser to the board of directors.

He was appointed a member of the board in 2003 and has since been appointed president of the foundation.

He is also vice-chairman of the board of governors and chairman of the executive committee of the Sidra Medical & Research Centre.

Saoud was founding dean of the science faculty at Qatar University, a position he held for almost 10 years. He has been instrumental in the planning and development of Education City, most notably in the Sidra Medical & Research Centre, the Qatar Science & Technology Park and the Qatar National Research Fund projects.
