The local Al-Khodary & Sons Company has submitted the low bid for the estimated SR 600 million ($160 million) governor complex in Baha. The project calls for the construction of residences for the governor and his deputy and associated buildings including servants quarters, kitchens, nurseries and offices. The project will have a built-up area of about 34,000 square metres.

Al-Khodary is also low bidder on the estimated SR 320 million ($85 million) governor complex in Najran. Similar in scope to Baha, the project will have a built-up area of 27,000 square metres, although it will not include residences for the deputy governor.

Bids are also under evaluation for a new complex for the governor of Mecca. Saudi Lebanese Modern Construction Company has submitted a low bid of about SR 375 million ($100 million).

Located on the Jeddah corniche, the complex will have a built-up area of about 38,000 square metres.

The client, the Interior Ministry, is looking to build other complexes in Medina, Jizan and Hail.
