More tenders out at DMC

Local property developer Nakheel has invited contractors to bid for two packages covering infrastructure and ship transfer berths at its Dubai Maritime City project (DMC) next to Port Rashid.

Companies have been invited to bid by 18 June for the second infrastructure contract. The contract covers the construction of access roads and installation of major services for a 122-hectare area known as the new Jadaf shipyard industrial areas to the west of the DMC landmass. Companies have also been invited to bid by 15 June for a civils work package for the ship transfer and dry berths.

The local/Belgian Bel Hasa Six Construct is working on the first infrastructure package. A joint venture of Van Oord Gulf of the Netherlands and Six Construct is the main contractor on the quay wall package. The US' Turner Construction International is the project manager and Mouchel Parkman of the UK is the infrastructure consultant (MEED 25:5:06).
