Bids for independent power project due in January
Morocco’s Office National de l’Electricite (ONE) has extended the bid deadline for the planned Safi coal-fired independent power project (IPP) by three months to 29 January.
Developers had been due to submit bids on 31 October.
The client has repeatedly postponed the deadline to give developers more time to prepare their bids because of numerous changes to the scope of the project.
In mid-May, ONE decided to move the site of the proposed plant by 7 kilometres.
Meanwhile, in March, the utility had abandoned plans to supply coal feedstock to the plant and build coal-handling facilities at Safi port, making this the winning developer’s responsibility instead.
