Position Director-general, Office Cherifen de Phosphates (OCP)
Biography Mostafa Terrab has been director-general of Morocco’s OCP, the world’s biggest exporter of phosphates, since February 2006. He was also appointed chairman of the board of trustees in June 2008. Terrab previously worked for US-based Bechtel Civil & Minerals, joining in 1983 and specialising in transport systems. He was involved in building Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd International airport in the early 1990s. In 1995, he became secretary-general of the Middle East/North Africa Economic Summit. In 1998, he was appointed director-general of Morocco’s National Telecommunication Regulatory Agency, before leading the World Bank’s Information for Development Programme in Washington from 2002 to 2006. Terrab holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in operations research from the US’ Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
