Mott MacDonald to design Bahrain tower

UK-based Mott MacDonald has been appointed as the design engineer for a BD70m ($190m) mixed-use tower in the Al-Seef district of Bahrain.

The tower, which will be one of the tallest in the country, will contain offices, residential apartments and a four-star hotel.

Mott MacDonald will provide designs for all civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering. This includes engineering for all vertical transportation such as lifts, escalators and staircases throughout the 44-storey building and planning all the fire and safety needs of users, from hotel guests to office staff.

The local Ithmaar Development Company is the client.
