UK-based Mott Macdonald’s international development consultancy, Euroconsult Mott MacDonald, has been awarded a $2.3m contract to improve the training of technicians working in Egypt’s water and wastewater sector.

Mott Macdonald will work with three schools and three training centres run by Egypt’s Holding Company of Water & Waste Water (HCWW) to improve the training of technicians in the water sector. The scheme is funded under the Netherlands Initiative for Capacity development in Higher Education (NICHE) programme, which is part of the Netherlands organisation for international cooperation in higher education (Nuffic).

The aim of the scheme is to increase the supply of fully trained technicians and improve the management capacity of the centres and schools. The programme is scheduled for completion in 2015.
