The UK’s Mott MacDonald has been appointed as consultant for the engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) phase of the $100m oil terminals storage project at Fujairah planned by the local Gulf Petrochem.
The firm will provide conceptual design, cost consultancy and feasibility assessments alongside engineering services and aiding with the tendering and construction management of the EPCM contract itself.
Mott MacDonald declines to comment on the value of the contract.
The project, which is expected to have a total capacity of nearly 500,000 cubic metres, will provide storage and blending facilities for gasoline, kerosene, diesel and fuel oil products. It is due for completion by the end of 2010.
The development is being introduced to facilitate petroleum products trading and demand for bunker fuel at the busy Fujairah tanker bunkering port.
