The Ministry of Public Works (MPW) has invited 13 local grade 1 contractors to bid by 18 June for an estimated KD 25 million-28 million ($86 million-97 million) contract to build a new road between Kabad and Wafra in the south of the state.
The scope of works for the two-year contract involves the construction of 56 kilometres of four-lane dual carriageway between the Kabad and Wafra roundabouts. The work will also include street lighting, and some basic earthworks. MPW has not engaged a consultant on the scheme, and has carried out basic design in-house. The tender documents stipulate that a consultant may be brought on board at a later stage.
