Biography: Muhammad Ali Albakri is the vice president for IT at Saudi Arabian Airlines, where he has worked for the past two decades. He is responsible for managing the IT services, applications and infrastructure of the entire company.
Albakri has a master’s degree in information systems from the University of Pittsburgh in the US. He joined the airline after graduating and has held several management positions including chief of systems engineering and architecture, and general manager for the airline’s applications development.
In his current role as vice president, Albakri executed the company’s IT master plan. This included an upgrade to its global infrastructure and re-engineering a wide range of technology systems and processes. Saudi Arabian Airlines is one of the largest airlines in the region with a fleet of 140 aircraft.
