Multiplex in talks for Doha tower

09 July 2008
Australian property and construction group Multiplex is understood to be negotiating with Qatar General Insurance & Reinsurance Company for the contract to build the estimated $250m Doha World Trade Centre tower.

The project, located opposite the Sheraton hotel on Doha corniche, involves the construction of a 55-storey building with four levels of parking and a total built-up area of 140,000 square metres.

The contract was tendered last year, but all bids were understood to exceed the client’s budget.

Bahrain-based Projacs is the project manager.
