Bidders have more time to prepare prices
The Transport & Communications Ministry has extended the tender closing date for the contract to build a passenger terminal at Muscat International airport to 28 October.
Contractors were preparing to submit bids at the end of September but the ministry granted a month-long extension to give bidder more time to prepare their prices.
The prospective bidders are Athens-based Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCC) and Turkey’s TAV; the local Galfar Engineering & Contracting Company and India’s Larsen & Toubro (L&T); Cyprus-based Joannou & Paraskevaides (J&P); a consortium of Bechtel, Bahwan and Enka; SBG; and France’s Vinci Grand Projets.
In May, Athens-based Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCC) and Turkey’s TAV won the RO500m ($1.3bn) contract for the infrastructure and runways at the airport (MEED 7:8:09).
