Homes will be built in Dubai’s Nad al-Sheba area

Local developer Nakheel has awarded the local Square General Contracting Company a AED188m ($51m) contract for the construction of 133 homes in Dubai.

The contract is for the fourth and final construction package of Nakheel’s Nad al-Sheba development, which will include 1,572 villas. The first three packages, covering 1,439 homes, were awarded last year. The local Trojan General Contracting was awarded an AED830m contract for infrastructure work and 489 villas; and United Engineering Construction won two packages, one worth AED789m for 482 villas, and the other worth AED781m for 468 villas.

Nakheel is also planning to build a 1.2 million-square-foot mall at the Nad al-Sheba development. A tender for the construction is expected to be released before the end of 2016. US firm AE7 is the consultant.
