Dubai-based developer Nakheel plans to tender two high-rise tower projects on the Palm Jumeirah next year.

Nakheel chairman Ali Rashid Lootah told MEED that the main construction contracts for the Palm 360 and the Palm Beach Residences are expected to be tendered in the third quarter of 2018. “The Palm 360 tower we will tender it by the third quarter 2018. It is a big project, one of the major projects for Dubai. We have another one that we call Palm Beach Residence. It will be tendered around the same time,” he said.

The Palm 360 is a twin tower development with 220-metre tall towers that include a hotel. There will also be apartments and penthouses. The towers also include a 135-metre-long rooftop infinity sky pool and restaurant complex connecting the two buildings at the 30th floor, which is more than 170 metres above ground.

The Palm Beach Residences is a 180 metre-tall residential tower. Located on the eastern side of Palm Jumeirah’s trunk, the scheme will have 250 one, two and three bedroom apartments topped off by a 38th floor sky lounge. The complex will also have extensive grounds, with a host of sports, health and leisure facilities including a pool, gym, tennis courts and clubhouse. There will also be retail and dining attractions.

Nakheel is building other towers in Dubai. In May, it appointed a main contractor for work on its Palm Gateway project. Indian contractor Shapoorji Pallonji was awarded the AED1.5bn ($408m) contract to build the three-tower residential and retail complex, which will be situated at the foot of the developer’s Palm Jumeirah project.

The project is expected to take about three years to complete. It will be built on top of an existing car park that serves the Palm monorail on Al-Sufouh road at the entrance to the Palm Jumeirah.
