The selection came after shortlisted companies - the others were the local Arabian Construction Company (ACC) and the UK's John Laing- submitted final prices in mid-May for the 15-storey building, which will house the Dubai Financial Market (stock exchange) and DIFC headquarters. The building will provide 43,000 square metres of accommodation and parking for up to 1,500 cars in the basement. The project will take about 14 months to complete.
The UK's Hyder Consultingis carrying out the civil and structural engineering designs for the building, while US-based Gensler & Associates Internationalis the design architect for the building and masterplan consultant for the DIFC project. Gensler is being supported by the UK's Roberts & Partners.
The US' Turner Internationalis the project manager for the entire DIFC development, which will be located on a 3.5 million-square-metre plot next to Emirates Towers.
