Biography: Nasser Lootah began his career working for UAE University in Al-Ain as a teaching assistant in the electrical department. He worked for the university for seven years. In October 1996, he left to join Dewa and in 1998 he was assigned as the deputy station manager of Jebel Ali power station. In July 2004, he was promoted to executive vice-president of the electricity generation division for Dewa’s power station complex. As executive vice president, he is in charge of operation, maintenance and commissioning activities of the power station complex, which has a total capacity of 7,500MW. Lootah graduated in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Oregon State University in the US. He completed his master’s there in 1991. Lootah undertook a three-year post-master’s study in system control at Arizona State University, also in the US.
