The local National Contracting Company (NCC) is low bidder at SR530m ($141m) for a contract to build a 380kV substation at Manifa for the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).
NCC’s bid is 6 per cent lower than the second best offer of SR564m submitted by the local Al-Fanar Contracting Company.
The other bidders for the contract are the local/South Korean Meedco and two local firms, SSEM and Al-Babtain Contracting.
The two-year project covers the construction of the Manifa substation as well as the expansion of the existing 115kV Abu Hadriya substation to 380kV.
SEC is expected to take about three months evaluating bids before making an award.
