Qtel's Oman-based telecoms company Nawras has posted 62% rise in third-quarter profit to OR12.5m ($32.5m), including one-off provisions, from OR7.7m a year earlier, as the number of subscribers increased, Bloomberg has reported. "Our strategies to roll out our fixed service and continued growth in the wireless market have delivered promising results," chairman Salim Bin Mustahil Al Maashani said in a statement. "We anticipate continued growth from fixed services in the fourth quarter of 2010." The number of mobile subscribers increased 13% in the quarter from a year ago, Nawras said.
