Sheikh Talal Mubarak Abdullah al-Ahmad al-Sabah has been appointed chairman and managing director of the state-owned Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC).
Sheikh Talal Mubarak Abdullah al-Ahmad al-Sabah has been appointed chairman and managing director of the state-owned Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC). The appointment follows the resignation in February of Ahmad al-Zaben. Sheikh Talal joined KAC in 1977 and has been general manager since 1999. The first step towards the privatisation of KAC was made in March when the economy and finance committee of the National Assembly (parliament) approved legislation to convert it into a public company. The bill's final approval is now awaited (MEED 2:4:04).
