New college campus planned in Ardiya

01 August 2003
The local Gulf Consult has been awarded a design contract for a new College of Business Studies campus to be built at Ardiya.

Estimated to cost KD 30 million-35 million ($100 million-116 million), the project will cover the construction of two separate units for men and women. A total of 23 two- and three-storey buildings are planned. They will include libraries, car parks, administrative buildings, lecture halls and related facilities.

Detailed design works are due to be completed by early 2004. The project will take about 30 months to complete.

The UK's John Bonnington & Partnership has carried out a masterplan for the proposed development. The client is the Public Authority for Applied Education & Training.
