New computer programme allows easy hacking of Facebook, Twitter accounts

28 October 2010

A new computer programme called Firesheep is being used to help people hack into Facebook and Twitter accounts. Firesheep is an extension of the Firefox web browser and collects cookies which are used to allow access to sites such as Facebook and Twitter and then lets users "sidejack" accounts. The add-on collects user information for different sites and then lets accounts be taken over, simply by clicking on them.
