Bids for Doha container terminal were submitted in October last year
The New Doha Port Steering Committee has not yet awarded the contract covering the construction of container terminal infrastructure at New Doha Port.
The contract was due to be awarded during the fourth quarter of last year, but as yet no decision has been reached. A source close to the project said the award would be made “very soon”, but declined to provide a specific date.
Bids were submitted in mid-October and a joint venture of Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) and the local Teyseer Contracting firm emerged as the low bidder, with a price of QR1.06bn ($291m).
A contract for the construction of commercial terminal infrastructure tendered in November remains out in the market, with a contract expected to be awarded in the second quarter of this year.
