A new surveillance programme for respiratory diseases in Qatar is set for launch by the country's Supreme Council of Health and the Hamad Medical Corp, the Peninsula has reported. Under the Severe Acute Respiratory Infection programme, HMC is to test all patients admitted to the hospital with respiratory problems to identify the viruses or bacteria that cause the illness.
